Wayanad: Disaster victims are unable to settle even a month after the inauguration of the township construction. The reason is that the construction has not been completed. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the township construction on March 1. It was a program organized by the government with great celebration. The work will be completed very quickly and 178 families will be able to settle in the first phase. The government had said at that time that all the disaster victims would be able to settle by April. However, the work of the houses handed over has not even been completed. No clarity has been made yet on when the work will be completed. The number of workers was reduced after the inauguration, where there were about 2300 workers. The companies that took subcontractors for not getting construction materials are also now in crisis. Meanwhile, the government had said at the time of the inauguration that many works were still pending and that the works would be completed soon. The construction would be delayed further if the rainy season arrives, which would create a crisis.
