Liquor stores in the state will start collecting plastic bottles from tomorrow. In the first phase, the collection will be in Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur districts. Bottles will be purchased at 20 outlets on a trial basis. An additional Rs 20 will be charged for liquor in plastic bottles. The money will be refunded if the empty bottle is returned. If successful, it will be effective from January. It will be implemented at all 285 outlets in the state.
