Kochi: The High Court will again consider the petition seeking cancellation of the censor certificate given to the controversial film 'The Kerala Story 2'. The petitioner is Kannur native Sridev Namboothiri. The main allegation in the petition is that the film is trying to portray Kerala as a land of communalism and religious conversion. The single bench that considered the petition yesterday had made it clear that the concerns of the petitioners cannot be ignored just because the film is named after Kerala. The court has also made it clear that the film can be watched to know what the content of the film is. Saying that the film was inspired by real events will affect the image of Kerala. Kerala is a secular society. Various communities live here in harmony, the court has also pointed out. The producers had also informed the court that they can withdraw the trailer if necessary.
