Thiruvananthapuram: Masked men put red signs on pillars in front of houses, locals in Nemom panicked. When they checked the CCTV after seeing the red signs on the pillars, it became clear that the signs were put up by masked men. This has left the entire nation in a state of panic. People were scared considering the black stickers that were put up in front of houses four years ago and some thefts that took place after that. Soon, the office bearers of the Residents Association approached the police with the CCTV footage. Yesterday, red signs appeared on pillars in front of some houses in the roads like Corporation Zonal Office Lane and JP Lane. When the locals informed the police with the suspicion that they were gangs who come and rob at night, the Nemom police also informed the homeowners to be vigilant. After the police started investigating, two people came to the station after learning about the information. Their confession was that they were workers of a private fiber network and that they had marked the posts with red marks in the early days to identify the houses that needed new connections. The police laughed when they heard that they had covered their noses and mouths with spray paint. In any case, the residents' association officials, who were frightened by the incident, were immediately informed by the police, who allayed the public's fears.
