Thrissur: The notorious criminal Balamurugan, who escaped from the Viyyur jail premises, was arrested in Tamil Nadu. The accused, who was produced in the Tenkasi court, was remanded in judicial custody. Balamurugan was caught by the Tamil Nadu Q Branch team while he was riding a bike near Trichy in Tamil Nadu. He was then taken to the Ootymala police station. He was produced before the magistrate at Madurai Palayam Kottayil by night. The steps including handing over the accused to the Thrissur Viyyur police will be taken soon. Balamurugan is an accused in 53 criminal cases, including murder. He escaped from custody on November 3rd from the Viyyur jail premises. He escaped when the Tamil Nadu police team brought Balamurugan to Viyyur. The accused's escape from the jail premises was controversial.
