Jio Hotstar's growth is on par with Netflix, which is known as the global OTT giant. Jio Hotstar's subscription has crossed 30 (300 million) crore. According to the latest figures, Netflix has 31.63 crore subscribers. Hotstar was able to make a big leap in the figures after the merger of Reliance-led Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar. Jio Hotstar subscriptions saw a huge increase during the live streaming of the IPL 2025 season. As of February, Jio Hotstar had 50 million subscribers. But by the end of the season, it had reached 30 million. The figures also indicate that more people used the digital platform than watched the IPL on television. According to advertising and subscription figures, this year's IPL tournament season gave Jio Hotstar its highest revenue in history.
