Milma Thiruvananthapuram Regional Union Governing Committee will meet to discuss the price hike. The meeting is as per the request of the Milma Governing Committee. The Malabar Regional Union will meet on the 28th and recommend a price hike. The previous time milk prices were increased in the state was in December 2022. Milma has been demanding an increase in milk prices for the last few months. The Milma Governing Committee has sought opinions from the relevant regional unions as the demand has become strong. Milma sells full-fat milk at Rs 56 per liter. The demand is to increase it to Rs 60. The Ernakulam Regional Union had recommended that farmers be paid Rs 60 per liter. However, if farmers want to get Rs 60, the milk price will have to be increased above that. Therefore, the Milma Governing Committee had clarified that it cannot increase it that much.
