A farmer hanged himself at the CPI office in Thalayazham, Vaikom. The deceased has been identified as farmer Chellappan Pulikassery. CPI district leaders had complained that their livelihood was destroyed. The CPI leadership had been criticized on social media. Locals and relatives said that the body could not be removed without the arrival of the RDO.
