The central government has submitted an argument in the Supreme Court that the court verdict allowing women to enter Sabarimala is wrong. The Ayyappan deity in Sabarimala is a celibate. It is a tradition that has been going on for centuries. The center has informed the Supreme Court that if women are allowed to enter, the nature of worship will change and that courts should not interfere in matters of faith. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted a 246-page argument in the Supreme Court for the center.
