Tehran: Iran rejects US ceasefire conditions. Iran has reduced its five conditions to three to end the war, rejecting Trump's 15 conditions for a ceasefire. Press TV reported this, citing Iranian officials. Iran's demands include recognizing Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, immediately ending the attacks, guaranteeing that there will be no more war, paying adequate compensation for losses incurred as a result of the war, and establishing mechanisms to ensure that there will be no more war in Iran. Iran also demanded control of the Strait of Hormuz, Press TV reported. However, the US is unlikely to accept this proposal. Donald Trump had indicated on Monday that he and Iran's supreme leader could jointly control this crucial oil shipping route. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the US is making a decisive move to seize Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub. The news agency Reuters reports that the US has discussed deploying its ground forces on Kharg Island. The report says that gaining control of the island could reduce Iran's economic revenues from oil production and influence the course of the current conflict. However, Iran also warns that it will target American troops who have sought refuge outside American bases in the region.
