Malappuram: A former police officer, motivational speaker and social media influencer, has been taken into custody in a case of allegedly raping a girl at a lodge. Former police officer Philip Mampad has been taken into custody by the Nilambur police. He was arrested in a POCSO case on a complaint of raping a 16-year-old girl. The police are taking action in a sexual assault POCSO case that took place in September 2022. The assault was on a 16-year-old girl from Chevayur, Kozhikode. He was taken into custody late last night. It is reported that the arrest will be recorded soon.
