A new cyclone has formed in southern Kerala, threatening rain. The cyclone has formed near the southern Kerala coast. In this situation, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in the southern districts in the afternoon and at night. Meteorologist Rajeevan Erickulam also clarified that there will be a generally overcast atmosphere in the central southern districts. Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha districts today. There will also be a yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Ernakulam districts tomorrow. Heavy rain is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.
