Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer E S Jayaram have resigned. Both have submitted their resignations stating that they take moral responsibility for the tragedy. The decision was announced in a joint press release issued on Saturday. Shankar and Sriram also said in the press release that they submitted their resignations to the KSCA president on Friday. However, the Karnataka Cricket Association has not confirmed the news of their resignations. The victory celebration organized at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on the fourth day after the IPL final match on June 3 ended in tragedy. 11 people lost their lives in a stampede among fans waiting for the players. 47 people were injured.
