The High Court has directed that strict action like arrest should not be taken against singer Sonu Nigam, who is facing a case for linking his forced singing of Kannada songs with the Pahalgam terror attack. The case is under consideration of the court. The temporary relief is in a petition filed by Sonu Nigam challenging the case registered by the Bengaluru Avalahalli police. Sonu's lawyer argued that the case was fabricated for unnecessary publicity and that Section 505, which is charged for causing public nuisance, will not be valid. Meanwhile, the government lawyer informed the court that Sonu is not cooperating with the investigation. With this, the court has allowed him to appear in the case through video conferencing. If the investigating officers insist on his presence in person, they can visit Sonu. Sonu will bear the expenses of this.
