In France, smoking was not a bad habit but a symbol of determination, love and revolution. Reports say that smoking will be banned in public places such as beaches, parks and school premises. International media reports that the restrictions will come into effect from July 1. French Health Minister Catherine Vautrin has clarified that they are moving to make areas where children are present smoke-free. The Health Minister responded that the freedom to smoke in France is ending before the right of children to clean air. Reports indicate that there will also be restrictions in areas including high schools. Vautrin also clarified that the aim of the measure is to prevent school children from being attracted to smoking. That is, if they try to imitate scenes in French films, they will have to pay a heavy fine. The move is to impose a fine of 135 euros (more than Rs. 13,000) on those who violate the smoking ban.
