Malappuram: Former MLA PV Anwar will not appear before the ED for questioning today in the Kerala Financial Corporation loan scam. He requested the ED to postpone the questioning for just one day citing health issues. The officials have asked him to appear on January 7. The raid conducted by the ED had found that the loan was misused with the connivance of KFC officials. A loan of Rs 12 crore was granted from KFC to benami entities in the names of Anwar's driver and relatives. The loan was granted in various stages by pledging the same property. The inspection also found that the loans taken from KFC were used for the PVR Township project. Based on this, the ED had questioned Anwar's benami entities including Anwar's benami the other day. Anwar was summoned based on crucial information received from them.
