The gold crown was offered by a devotee named Kulothungan, a native of Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu. The offering was held at a ceremony held near the flagpole at 9 am. Devaswom Chairman Dr. V. K. Vijayan received the crown. Administrator K. P. Vinayan, temple deputy administrator Pramod Kalarikkal, temple assistant managers K. Ramakrishnan, K. K. Subhash, C. R. Lejumol, Kulothungan's wife Renukadevi and children were present. After the offering, Kulothungan and his family, who had come for darshan, were given a prasadam kit of Sree Guruvayoorappan consisting of kalabham, kadalipazham, sugar, a chartiya thirumudimala and silk.
