Jagadeesh decided to withdraw his nomination after discussions with Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. Baburaj, Kukku Parameswaran and Raveendran will contest for the post of general secretary. Jayan Cherthala and Raveendran, who had filed their nominations for the post of president, had earlier withdrawn. Actor Anoop Chandran has filed his nomination for the posts of president and general secretary. Actor Devan is on the stand that he will contest in any situation. A section is against Devan’s action in holding a press conference while the election process is in progress. The election is on August 15.
