Air India has confirmed that 241 people have died on board. 229 passengers and 12 crew members on board have died. One person miraculously survived. In addition to the passengers, 49 people, including medical students and locals, died. Air India's AI 171 aircraft crashed during takeoff in an area adjacent to a residential area in Meghani Nagar. Only one person survived the plane crash. 40-year-old Vishwas Kumar Ramesh miraculously escaped through the emergency exit. He is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital with injuries. Reports say that the cause of the accident was a failure of both the aircraft's engines. The black box of the aircraft is being recovered and is being examined. The collection of DNA samples of the relatives of the accident victims at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital had already started yesterday. The results will be available within 72 hours. The bodies will be released based on the results.
