The deceased was a second-year biomechanical engineering student. The students had informed the authorities after Ayush Singhar, a native of Chandigarh, was not seen on the campus for 2 days. The authorities informed the police after the student's room was found locked from inside. The student was found dead when the police broke down the door and entered. The police said that no suspicious marks were found on the student's body. The electrical equipment in the room, including the electrical appliances, have been sent for forensic tests. The police said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
