Mons Joseph MLA narrowly escaped the accident. The incident took place in Arunuttimangalam yesterday morning. A car coming from the Mulakulam side came straight at Mons Joseph MLA, who was talking to locals on the roadside. A major accident was averted because those with him caught him and moved him. The vehicle stopped when the front of the car hit the dirt on the road. The car then reversed and hit two locals. When the locals stopped the car and opened the door, it was discovered that the young man who was driving was drunk. The young man was someone many locals knew. The MLA said that there was no complaint in the incident. Vellore police also arrived at the scene.
