If rain continues in the catchment area of Malampuzha Dam, the water level is likely to rise and the spillway shutters of the dam will have to be opened in the next few days to adjust the water level according to the rule curve, the executive engineer said. The current water level at 2 pm yesterday is 112.12 meters and the water storage is 159.1074 million cubic meters. The water level according to the rule curve is 112.99 meters and the storage capacity is 175.98 million cubic meters. People living on the banks of rivers like Mukaipuzha, Kalpathipuzha and Bharathapuzha should be careful.
