PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome, is a common hormonal challenge that most women and girls face these days. Irregular periods, excessive hair growth, acne, excess weight gain, and reproductive problems are some of the problems caused by PCOS. But beyond this, health experts say that PCOS is associated with high blood pressure and heart health. Studies show that women with PCOS are about 40 percent more likely to have high blood pressure than those without PCOS. Another study conducted by Chinese researchers found that women with PCOS are twice as likely to have high blood pressure. Experts point out that this is, to some extent, due to the metabolic disorder caused by PCOS.
