Thiruvananthapuram: Gold prices have increased by Rs 230 in the state. Today, 1 gram of gold is priced at Rs 13,575 and 1 pound of 22 carat gold is priced at Rs 1,08,600. This is a one-off increase of Rs 1,840 from yesterday's price. Gold prices had fallen twice yesterday. The price of 1 pound of 22 carat gold was Rs 1,06,120 yesterday morning. By night, the price of gold had fallen to Rs 1,06,760. These are the rates as per the figures released by the All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association. The reason for these unexpected changes is the instability in the international market. On March 23, the price of gold had reached Rs 99,480.
