Thiruvananthapuram: Police have turned a blind eye to the gold theft at Kavadiyar Palace. After examining and questioning the accounts of some people close to the palace, the royal family itself approached the investigation team with a complaint. The police are struggling to find the people who smuggled the gold as the complainants themselves are not cooperating fully. The gold went missing four months ago. The royal family members did not want to file a case. The police are filing a case after conducting a secret investigation without a complaint. It has been two weeks since the police registered a case. The investigation began after all the evidence was destroyed. After taking the statements of the royal family members, the investigation moved to the regular visitors and employees of the palace. The police have doubts about the transactions in the accounts of some employees. The police have also called a woman with close ties to the palace for questioning. It was after that that the complainants themselves approached the investigation team. The complaint to the high-ranking police officers was that people close to the palace and employees were being harassed in the name of the investigation. The explanation given by the investigation team to the high-ranking officials was that the interrogation was only part of the investigation to find the people who smuggled the gold. The investigation team was in a crisis when a member of the palace himself filed a complaint against the police. No one was called for questioning afterwards. The complainants themselves are not interested when the case is being investigated without evidence. The theft is worth more than two crore rupees. The police are asking how they can turn back without finding the thief since a case has been registered. However, centers related to the royal family explain that they are not cooperating with the investigation except that some complaints have been brought to their attention.
