Mumbai: Indian cricket's teenage wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi can now step into the big world of international cricket. As Vaibhav celebrated his 15th birthday, the player crossed the ICC's minimum age limit to play international cricket. With this, Vaibhav became eligible for selection for the Indian senior team just before the nineteenth season of the IPL. According to the rules introduced by the ICC in 2020 (Article 4.1), a player must be at least 15 years old to represent the national team in international matches or ICC tournaments. This rule was implemented to protect the physical and mental health of young players. Having turned 15 today, fans are eagerly waiting to see when Vaibhav will make his debut in the Indian shirt. Vaibhav came to prominence when he was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore in the 2025 IPL player auction. Vaibhav, who entered the team with the record of being the youngest player in IPL history, made his debut by hitting a six on the first ball he faced. Later, Vaibhav also made the record of the second fastest century in IPL history by scoring a century in just 35 balls. Chris Gayle's century in 30 balls is the fastest century in IPL. Vaibhav, who has already proven his talent in domestic cricket and Under-19 cricket, also made the record of the fastest century by an Indian player in the history of Youth Test cricket by scoring a century in 58 balls against Australia in the Indian Under-19 Youth Test. When India won the Under-19 World Cup in January, Vaibhav, the team's top scorer, became the player to hit the most sixes in the tournament. Vaibhav also broke the record for the highest individual score in the final against England, scoring 175 runs off 80 balls.
