Renault has launched the electric version of Twingo. The vehicle, which has been launched under the name Twingo E-Tech, has arrived in France. Twingo was a shining star in Europe in the early 1990s. The car has a premium touch with a short bonnet, lower overhangs, a high roofline, 3D-textured bumpers and a panoramic glass roof. Although the Twingo E-Tech Electric is only 3.79 meters long, the wheelbase is 2.49 meters. Twingo is also built on the AmpR Small platform. The company has promised a range of 163 km. In the middle, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster have been provided. The EV can accelerate from 0-100kmph in around 12.1 seconds and has a top speed of around 130kmph. Standard cars will get 6.6kW AC charging. It can be charged from 10 to 100% at a wallbox in 4 hours and 15 minutes. The Twingo E-Tech's powertrain is also equipped with a 27.5kWh lithium-ion (LFP) battery pack. The car will be assembled in Europe using LFP batteries from CATL in China. Renault said it will be available in only four colours. Renault has sold more than 4.1 million Twingo units in 25 countries over three decades.
