The Global Ayyappa Sangam organized by the Travancore Devaswom will be held today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Global Ayyappa Sangam on the banks of the Pampa. The Chief Minister had arrived in Pampa last night for this. All the preparations were already complete in Pampa. The government and the Devaswom are concerned that the Global Ayyappa Sangam will be limited to name only. Only the Tamil Nadu government has accepted the invitation for the Ayyappa Sangam. The only other invitees to the ceremony are ministers and officials from Kerala. Devaswom Board President P S Prashanth says that there are some vested interests behind the withdrawal of other states except Tamil Nadu from the Global Ayyappa Sangam. The opposition and the BJP in Kerala have boycotted the Ayyappa Sangam. Devaswom Minister VN Vasavan opined that the opposition that boycotts will be isolated from the people.
