The number of foreign students expressing interest in studying in colleges and universities in Kerala has increased. The number of students choosing Kerala for higher studies in the fields of undergraduate, postgraduate and research has increased tenfold. Kerala University is leading in the number of foreign students. As of the beginning of the new academic year, 2620 people from 81 countries have applied from abroad to study in various departments at the University of Kerala alone. CUSAT is at the second place in the list. CUSAT has received 1761 applications. Statistics also indicate that MG University has received 982 applications from foreign students so far. Kerala University has received the most applications in the Political Science department.
