The incident took place on June 20. The party was organised at the Gurugram office of Air India subsidiary AI Sats. The action came after footage of the party went viral on social media. Senior officials including the company CFO of AI Sats also attended the party. Following the outcry, an Air India spokesperson clarified that they stand with the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragedy and do not approve of the party video that has now surfaced. AI Sats criticised the employees for behaving in a way that was not in line with the company's values.
