Rishabh Pant, who has been an integral part of the Indian Test team despite his lackluster performance in the IPL, is likely to be made the vice-captain. The names of Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah are being heard. Vice-captain Bumrah is unlikely to be in the team as he has fitness issues. With Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the pillars of Indian cricket for more than a decade, cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the new team selection. In Rohit's absence, experienced KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the batting. There is also a possibility of bringing in young player Sai Sudarshan, who shone in the IPL, as a reserve opener.
