Today is the world-famous Guruvayur Ekadashi. Guruvayur Ekadashi is one of the most important annual events in Guruvayur. Elaborate celebrations have been arranged in the temple. Shrimad Geeta Parayanam will be held in the spiritual hall from 7 am. Today's chutuvilakkum belongs to the Devaswom. A special meal will be held for those observing the Ekadashi fast at Oottupura. Arrangements have been made for men and women to have darshan and eat prasadam in the eastern part. Lakhs of devotees will come to Guruvayur today to see Kannan. This day is very important as Guruvayur Pratishtha Day and Geetha Day. It is believed that it was on this day that Bhagwan gave Vishwaroopa darshan to Shankaracharya and Villvamangalam Swami. It is also believed that Lord Vishnu along with the gods and goddesses ascends to Guruvayur on this day. Today's meal will consist of wheat rice, kalan, puzhukku, and wheat payasam.
