Delhi: It has been 7 years since the Pulwama terror attack that shook the country. India retaliated through military action through Balakot for the Pulwama attack in which 40 soldiers lost their lives. The country heard the news with great shock. 40 brave soldiers of India were lost in the terrorist attack. 2547 CRPF jawans, including those returning from leave, were on their way from Jammu to Srinagar in 78 vehicles when the attack took place near Awantipura in Pulwama district. The car driven by the suicide bomber was carrying 100 kilograms of explosives. The car and the bus were destroyed beyond recognition in the violent explosion. Bodies were scattered in a 100-meter radius. The buses that followed were also damaged in the explosion. There were 40 people in the bus of the 76th Battalion that was completely destroyed. Vasantha Kumar, a Malayali, was a jawan of the 82nd Battalion. The suicide bomber was Adil Ahmed, a native of Kakapora, Pulwama. Six days after the attack, the NIA took over the investigation from the Kashmir Police. It was revealed that the terrorist attack was coordinated by 23-year-old Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Mudassir Ahmed Khan. He was later killed in an encounter. The attack took place two months before the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, the incident was also discussed politically. On the 12th day of the attack, India retaliated. A terrorist training camp in Balakot, Pakistan, was destroyed in a lightning strike. The central government announced that about 300 terrorists were killed in the airstrike.
