Pathanamthitta: The collection of samples from the layers of the shrine for scientific testing in the Sabarimala gold robbery has been completed. The SIT team collected samples from the Kattilapalli, Dwarapalaka sculpture and pillars in two days. The Gold Assessment Section of Legal Metrology was also with the SIT. The layers that were stirred up to collect the samples were put back together. Although samples were collected and tested once before, the VSSC report was not clear. With this, the scientific test is being conducted again with the permission of the High Court. A larger quantity of samples has been collected than the last time. The aim is to find out the quantity and age of the lost gold. The sample test is likely to be conducted at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai.
