The accused in the Kannur Ariyil Shukkur murder case has been made the DYFI regional secretary. K. Shijin was elected as the Kannapuram East regional secretary yesterday. Shijin is the fifteenth accused in the case of the murder of MSF activist Ariyil Shukkur. Shijin was the SFI unit president of Madayi College when Shukkur was killed in 2012. The DYFI had read a condolence resolution as a martyr for Sheryl, who was killed while making a bomb in Panur, at the regional meeting the other day. Another accused in this case was also elected as the CPM branch secretary.
