Kozhikode Medical College ACP A Unmesh is in charge of the investigation. Kozhikode City Police has taken up the case under section 192 of BNS. The FIR is based on a strict section of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR has been filed under the section which prevents rioting by dividing the people. Section 120 of the KP Act has also been imposed. The city police commissioner had ordered a detailed investigation into Arjun's sister Anju's complaint that the family was being hunted. Arjun's sister's husband Jithin accused Manaf of exploiting his emotions. At the same time, Manaf rejected Arjun's family's allegation. Manaf told the media that he did not do any kind of PR work or money collection on Arjun's behalf. Arjun's family was cyber-attacked after allegations were leveled against Manaf.
