Delhi: The Supreme Court said that what happened in Sabarimala was a major irregularity. The Supreme Court observed that even God was not spared. The Supreme Court made the observation while considering the petition of former Devaswom Board member KP Shankaradas. The court said that Shankaradas is responsible for the gold theft. However, considering his age and health problems, the Supreme Court directed the concerned court to grant anticipatory bail. The High Court made some remarks against Shankaradas while considering another case in the Sabarimala gold theft. The High Court asked why the 2019 board members Shankaradas and N. Vijayakumar were excluded. The court also raised the question of why no action was taken against them. However, Shankaradas filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the remarks made by the High Court without hearing his side be withdrawn and that the arrest be stopped. The bench headed by Justice Dipankar Dutta, which considered the petition today, clarified that it would not interfere with the demands of the current petition. It was also informed that it would hear the matter if an anticipatory bail application is filed. Moreover, the court noted that Shankara Das, as a member of the Devaswom Board, could not escape responsibility for the loot and that even God was left unpunished. The Supreme Court also observed that there was a major irregularity in Sabarimala.
