Stay on the High Court order to transfer IPS officer D. Shilpa from Kerala cadre to Karnataka cadre. The order was stayed by the Supreme Court. The action was taken on an appeal filed by the Central Government. The Central position is that the cadre change is not currently feasible. The Supreme Court has issued notices to the opposing parties, including Shilpa. Detailed arguments in the case will be heard later. The division bench comprising Justice Amit Rawal and Justice K.V. Jayakumar ordered the cadre change last May, considering that the inclusion of D. Shilpa, a native of Karnataka, in the Kerala cadre was wrong. Senior advocate Dama Seshadri Naidu and advocates P. George Giri and Jasmine Kurian Giri appeared for D. Shilpa.
