The police have registered a case against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mangkootatil on a complaint of sexual harassment. The FIR was registered at the Valiyamala police station in Thiruvananthapuram. The case will be transferred to the Nemom police station. Rahul Mangkootatil has been charged with rape on the promise of marriage and forced abortion. Forced abortion is an offence punishable by 10 years in prison under Section 89 of the IPC. The police have registered a case against two people on the complaint of the woman. Rahul Mangkootatil and his friend are among the accused in the complaint of the woman.
